Waterford High wins High School Category of 2013 Hellshire Schools Enviro Competition

(l-r) Sara Simpson, Director, Natural Resources Management and Environmental Planning (NRMEP) Department, Urban Development Corporation (UDC) presents winning trophy and a cash prize to Desi-anne Treasure and Travis Porter, students of Waterford High School, St. Catherine. Runaway Bay Water Company ( RBWC) sponsored this cash prize. Waterford’s winning project focused on hydroponics which is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions in water without soil. The occasion was the 7th annual Hellshire Enviro Fair held by the UDC at Two Sisters Caves on Friday, May 31.

UDC Lends a Hand on Labour Day 2013

The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) will lend its support to Labour Day 2013 through projects at the Kingston Craft Market and Orange Park in downtown Kingston on Thursday, May 23 between the hours of 7am and 11am.

Labour Day 2013 is being held under the theme “Lend A Hand…Build Our Land”.
