Jamaica 50 Fireworks

Hundreds of Jamaicans ushered in the New Year on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at “Jamaica 50 Fireworks” on the Waterfront Kingston. The event was organized by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) along with private sector and government partners. Main features included a kiddies village, a VIP poolside party and a stage show featuring popular artists such as Khago, Ken Booth, George Nooks, Omari, Joan Flemmings and I-Octane.

UDC Plants Trees

This event which was staged on October 8, 2011 was led by the Corporation’s Natural Resources Management and Environmental Planning (NRMEP) Department. The event was organized to commemorate National Tree Planting Day.  Over 100 trees were planted by participants from UDC, students from schools within St. Catherine and Kingston and St.

UDC and Port Authority Donates Jet Skis to Police


Owen Ellington, commissioner of police tests one of four jet skis which was purchased by the
Urban Development Corporation in collaboration with the Port Authority of Jamaica at cost of
approximately J$8.6 million. The jet skis will enhance the JCF’s monitoring capabilities of the
Ocho Rios and Falmouth coastlines. The handing over event was held at the Office of the Police
