About the Event
The Urban Development Corporation’s Fireworks Festival is arguably the most anticipated calendar event of the year in Jamaica.
This 20th staging is being hosted under the theme, ‘Life, Love and Harmony’, cementing togetherness, celebration and Jamaican pride. It serves as a powerful reminder of the fundamental aspects of human existence and the potential for positive change when individuals come together to celebrate, understand, and nurture these elements in themselves and in the world around them. It encourages participants to embrace the richness of life, foster loving connections, and work towards a more harmonious and compassionate society.
This year’s staging promises to be even bigger- adding a wellness lounge, kids village and classic cars road show to the traditional programme of the public fireworks display, live performances and a variety of food vendors.
The scale of the event is far-reaching with meaningful economic and social impact, positively influencing the lives of community members who engage in business transactions during the event and marshals who are drawn from the surrounding communities and receive short term employment with the Corporation.
The event attracts a wide cross-section of attendees including international visitors, Government officials, local and international media and citizens from varying walks of life. The significance of the Fireworks event has caused the UDC to remain committed to its execution to close out the old year and ring in the new one, ripe with prospects and opportunities.
Each year, we partner with a collective group of corporate sponsors and municipal entities to plan and execute the staging of a Fireworks event that surpasses the previous.
This event, now staged simultaneously in Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay creates a melting pot of Jamaican culinary offerings, craft, entertainment and cultural gems, reminiscent of years past yet with hope for a prosperous New Year, through a stellar fireworks display.
