Turtle River Road Progress

On March 14, 2014 (from left) UDC General Manager Desmond Malcolm inspects the work being carried out on the Turtle River Road alongside Michael Morrison, Project Manager, Surrey Paving and Aggregate and Kemar Morris, UDC Clerk of Works. The work is part of the $40 million Ocho Rios Enhancement Project which also includes work on the Ocho Rios Cruise Terminal. The UDC is acting as project managers for this phase of the works while project sponsors are the Tourism Enhancement Fund and Port Authority of Jamaica. Elements of the redevelopment will include pedestrianizing and landscaping of Turtle River Road. The UDC has had a longstanding relationship with the development of Ocho Rios, beginning in 1968 when the resort town became the Corporation’s first rural project.
