This project includes the renovation of the Ocho Rios Cruise Ship Terminal and the improvement of the spatial and visual quality of specific sections of the town which may serve to enhance the earning potential of business operators. Already a well landscaped and aesthetically pleasant corridor has been created, beginning at the cruise ship terminal, travelling along Turtle River Road, along Main Street and along a Waterfront Promenade at the Ocho Rios Bay Beach back to the Cruise Ship Terminal. The Dunn's River Central Garden was once the parking area for patrons before the increased activity of the attraction forced the expansion of the parking facilities. The former parking lot will be transformed into a landscaped garden which will include vending kiosks, gazebos, rides, photo shop, locker rental facilities and a beautiful splash pad water feature for the primary entertainment of children.
To expand and upgrade the bathroom facilities at the Dunn's River Falls and Park. The facility has had inadequate sanitary conveniences for years and with the increased patronage expected as a result of the marketing strategy it has become increasingly important to upgrade the conveniences (Family rooms, baby changing rooms, changing rooms, showers and toilets) as well as to rationalize the number of conveniences to patrons. Implementation to be conducted in three phases.
Reconstruction and re-profiling of the Beachfront. It requires offshore dredging in designated areas. The installation of necessary implements along the beach to pump and redistribute the sand as well as the construction of a cross drain to protect beach from onshore storm water and underground water and spur groyne. The work is to be done in phases to facilitate operations.
