How The TIP Works ...
Criteria and Approval Process

To access benefits each applicant must submit completed forms, along with required documents, eg. approved plans. Applications will be considered based on their ability to facilitate:

  • Job creation
  • Enhance visual city scape
  • Regenerate or restore housing accommodation
  • Enhance the business environment
  • Improve architectural façade, sidewalk, and create parking spaces
  • Conform or complement existing structure

All applications will be processed in the PEU.

 

Revocation of incentives

There will be a penalty for breaches of any conditions of the application process for incentives. This will include immediate revocation of any incentives granted. The approved developer or approved organization may, however, be given the opportunity to explain the circumstances, by the Minister of Finance.

 

Monitoring

The programme is monitored by the Income Tax Department, Tax Administration Services Dept., Securities Commission, KSAC, and the local authority for each parish, as new areas are designated.

 

Where are application forms available?

Application forms are available from the Tax Incentive PEU, Urban Development Corporation, Office Centre Building, 12 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston Mall, or 40 Fort Street, Montego Bay. (Temporary Office, Shop 36, Montego Freeport - to August 2000).
