UDC invites Tenders for Dunn’s River Falls and Park Water Shoes Rental

The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is inviting suitable and qualified investors to submit proposals for the provision of appropriate footwear for the climbing of the falls at Dunn’s River Falls and Park (DRFP) in Ocho Rios which currently attracts approximately 737,000 visitors.

Investors are being reminded that proposals should provide a comprehensive indication of the business concept for the rental of water shoes complementary to the existing facilities and offering of the DRFP. Proposals should also include:

  • Methodologies for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene as it relates to the cleanliness of the shoes
  • A monetary offer for the right to operate this business and/or a revenue sharing arrangement
  • Evidence of their ability to finance the operation and future expansion of this business
  • A timeline for the proposed business to become operational

Sealed and labelled proposals should be deposited in the Tender Box labelled " Request for Proposal, Rental of water shoes at Dunn’s River Falls and Park", located on the Ground Floor of the Office Centre Building, 12 Ocean Building Kingston, by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday November 20, 2014. The site of the Dunn's River Falls and Park became part of the 276 acre Belmont property, which was acquired by Government in 1972. The Belmont property was entrusted to the (UDC) for the people of Jamaica to provide for the development of recreational and park facilities.
