Jubilee Market Renovation

  • Posted on: 16 May 2015

The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) will be renovating the Jubilee Market. The Jubilee or ‘Solas’ Market was the first market established in Kingston 1906. The original structure was destroyed by fire in the 1980’s and the area has since been informally reoccupied by haberdashery vendors. It will be rebuilt as a modern facility in keeping with its original aesthetics. The market will primarily accommodate Speciality Goods Vendors with a focus on culinary craft (preserves, etc.). The facility will also provide gallery space for Downtown Kingston’s Artists and the Northern Yard will be the start of a haberdashery arcade.

Phase III - Main Building: Construction of the covered main market building with supporting administrative areas.
