Projects
Did you know that the UDC has a portfolio of projects spanning different sectors and parishes? Our projects normally fall into two categories; investment projects and agency projects. Investment projects are those done by the UDC as lead developers for its designated areas and to generate income. We carry out agency projects on behalf of the Government (Ministries and other agencies) for which a project management fee is charged. The UDC also undertakes special projects from time to time in fulfilment of the Government’s mandate.
The UDC is spearheading a number of critical development initiatives in five designated areas: Kingston and Port Royal; Caymanas in St Catherine; Ocho Rios, St. Ann; Montego Bay, St. James; and Falmouth, Trelawny on the north coast. These projects will address the requirements for primary infrastructure development, housing, tourism, commerce and industry, community economic development as well as urban renewal.
