Kingston, Jamaica: March 17, 2020: In light of the announcement by the Government of Jamaica on the increasing community transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) wishes to advise the public that daily operations for business at its Corporate Head Office in Downtown, Kingston and the Subsidiaries will be closed from Tuesday 17 March from 2 PM until Wednesday 25 March. Critical areas of operations will continue remotely with ongoing asset management and welfare support as necessary.

Port Royal 2020 is a Joint Government Initiative which aims to see a technologically smart, safe and secure Port Royal with a vibrant local economy, preserved cultural heritage and protected natural environment for the sustainable use by its citizens and visitors for generations to come. The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is leading the coordination and planning efforts of Government Ministries, departments and agencies in Port Royal 2020 on behalf of the Ministry of Economic, Growth and Job Creation.
Dunn’s River Falls & Park won big on Monday after being named the Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Tourist Attraction. The announcement was made at the World Travel Awards 2020 held at the Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, on January 20. Among the nominees were Dolphin Cove, Jamaica; Cayman Turtle Centre; Stingray City, Antigua and Aquaventure at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has made significant progress in addressing issues identified at Dunn’s River Falls & Park (DRFP). These issues stemmed from the audit into the operations of its subsidiary St. Ann Development Company (SADCo) published in January 2019. Following the findings of the UDC commissioned assessment, a Programme Management Office (PMO) was established in February of this year.
The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) wishes to advise that its Negril Office will be closed to the public on Friday, June 28, 2019.
Additionally, its Head Office at 12 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston and the Caymanas Development Company (CDC) in St. Catherine, will be close at 12 noon to facilitate a staff function.
The offices will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019.

The Board of Directors of the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has appointed Ms Heather Pinnock, General Manager of the entity as of April 1, 2019.
Ms Pinnock acted as General Manager from September 24, 2018 until the time of her appointment. Prior to that she served as Deputy General Manager, Planning Development and Project Management Division.
