PEOPLE’S CHOICE EXHIBITION LAUNCHED
KINGSTON, Jamaica – 29th January 2019: The Government of Jamaica’s Houses of Parliament (Architectural) Design Competition People’s Choice Exhibition is currently underway at the National Gallery of Jamaica in Downtown, Kingston. The exhibit forms part of a People’s Choice voting mechanism that will determine which of the five designs on display will win the Competition’s People’s Choice Award in March when the contest ends.
UDC Releases DRFP Audit Report to Public
The official report into the findings of an independent audit, commissioned by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) in collaboration with its subsidiary, the St. Ann Development Company (SADCo) has been shared with the media and the general public. The UDC’s decision to share the findings were in the spirit of transparency and accountability since delivering the report and recommendations to the relevant authorities and taking further steps to remedy the long standing allegations of fraud and corruption at Dunn’s River Falls and Park (DRFP), in particular.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CHANGES FOR DOWNTOWN KINGSTON TO FACILITATE UDC’S FIREWORKS 2018
The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) will on Monday, December 31, 2018 host its premier event, UDC Fireworks on the Waterfront on Ocean Boulevard in Downtown Kingston. Similar to prior staging, the Corporation has partnered with stakeholders such as the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the National Works Agency to implement the necessary traffic changes and road closures to facilitate the seamless execution of the event.
UDC ROLLS OUT NEW PARK AND RIDE FOR FIREWORKS 2018
With an even larger showing anticipated for the 2018 staging of Fireworks on the Waterfront, the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is rolling out its new “Park and Ride” aimed at complementing its long established parking plan used for the Fireworks event throughout the years.
For a fee of $300, individuals have the option of parking at one of three satellite parking lots and being shuttled free of cost to and from the event on December 31 at 6:00pm. Each parking area will have adequate lighting and security guards. The areas are as follows:
UDC PROMISES AN EXCITING FAMILY FRIENDLY SHOW AT FIREWORKS
The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is announcing that plans for its premier event Fireworks on the Kingston Waterfront, are far advanced, with this year’s staging scheduled for New Year’s Eve, Monday, December 31 from 3:00pm to 2:00am the following day. The Fireworks event will for a second year be extended to St. Ann and dubbed ‘Fireworks on the Bay’ at the Ocho Rios Bay Beach, being executed by the St. Ann Development Company (SADCO), a subsidiary of the UDC and will begin at 2:00pm.
Notice Derelict Vehicles
The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) wishes to advise owners of unauthorised vehicles that have been parked at the Corporation’s Orange Street Multi-Storey Car Park, Downtown Kingston that the vehicles are to be removed between the period November 5 and 11, 2018.
Failure to relocate these vehicles will result in their removal from the car park without any further notice.
