Dunn’s River Falls and Park (DRFP), is in the running to become one of 2017’s winners of the Tourism Service Excellence Award. The St. Ann Development Company (SADCO) - a affiliate of the Urban Development Corporation (UDC), managed attraction will compete alongside ten other semi-finalists in the organisation category for the coveted award which spans entities involved in the areas of accommodation, ground transportation, attractions and the craft industry.
The multimillion dollar redevelopment of the earmarked Montego Bay Waterfront spearheaded by the nation’s chief urban planning agency the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is advancing; this was the sentiment expressed by Mr. Winston Dear, Director of the UDC and Chairman of the UDC’s Montego Bay Advisory Committee, during a recent interview focusing on the redevelopment plans for the region.
The Urban Development Corporation’s (UDC) designated area of Hellshire Hills located in St. Catherine, following its selection by the National Ramsar Committee, the local representative for the international intergovernmental body of the Convention on Wetlands, the Ramsar Committee/Convention; hosted the national celebration for this year’s World Wetlands Day 2018, on Friday February 2, 2018.

The nomination which comes on the heels of DRFP receiving the TripExpert 2017 Experts’ Choice Award and the Best In Jamaica Award, affords the attraction the opportunity vie for, alongside 19 other Caribbean attractions, the coveted USA Today10Best Readers’ Choice Award and badge of recognition as the 10Best Readers' Choice.
Following on the heels of its invitation for consultants to submit their bids for selecting the suitable site for Jamaica’s Third City, the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has now reached out for bidders in the area of Pre-Horizon Scanning and Foresighting Study.
The UDC will be looking for bids that analyse and document global trends for the next 10 through to 50 years in all sectors of the global economy to outline the economic, geopolitical, social, technological, environmental drivers.
